Coconut - Culinary Culture of Ben Tre



The Coconut Palms are not only a inspiration for poetry but also  a culinary culture of this place with a variety of well-known dish.
There is rare kind of tree has numerious uses like Coconut Palm.

Coconut Water is a sweet beverage easily to find. Beside being used for drink, Coconut Water is a ingredient for many traditional dishes such as Thit kho tau, Tep rang nuoc dua, Ca kho dua.

Coconut Rice includes rice cooked with fresh Coconut Water. Rice is cooked and drenched into the Coconut until dried and breathe. This dish in the tastest when eaten with Dried Salty Shrimp.

Coconut Milk is a ingredient in almost all traditional porridge and dessert of Vietnam.

Coconut Candy is very popular all over the country. It is simply a combination of Coconut Milk and malts with newest taste.

Sweetened Shredded Coconut is made from fresh shredded coconut sweetened with white sugar and then fried with low heat until it dries.
