Benefits of Natural King Coconut Water

What is King Coconut

King coconut is a sub class of coconut and unlike coconut this produce only use of consumption its tastier water. King coconut shell is orange in color so it is much easier to find it from ordinary coconut. King coconut water is much popular as a healthy drink which contains a lot of ingredient which essential to human body. Sri Lanka is the highest producer for king coconut and most of Sri Lankan use this drink for their daily consumption. King Coconut drink can considered as highly sweet  and good beverage and this product  is 100% natural . So without adding additional artificial ingredient we can consume the best natural sweet beverage to our daily consumption.
As I said earlier king coconut water only use as a beverage and the taste is far better than normal coconut water. This water consists natural sucrose, fructose and glucose like green coconut water. Likecoconut water , king coconut water also use to improve metabolism and this also clear up your urinary path. There are two main types of king coconut available in Sri lanka which known as Ran king coconut and Gon king coconut. The mentioned two types of king coconut produces better taste which is far better than the taste of coconut water. Most of people think that king coconut is also taken from the coconut tree . But the truth is the tree of king coconut and coconut are completely different .

Different between coconut and king coconut

King coconut does not produced much sub product like coconut do and that is the main disadvantage of king coconut over green ordinary coconut. If we consider about coconut ,normally the nut of coco  produce shell, husk, coir, copra, coconut milk , oil , water etc  but king coconut only produce the water and the flesh. The flesh of this king coconut cannot store as dried coconut . If we compare ordinary coconut and king coconut economical wise ,ordinary green coconut serves far better in economical than king coconut. the following image show the king coconut in right hand side and ordinary coconut in left.

Benefits  Natural King Coconut Water

This is also used to get referees and help to purify and dehydrate our body. king coconut water consists minerals like calcium, iron and phosphorus and some vitamin. King coconut also enrich with bio active enzymes too. Most of people have less knowledge about this type of coconut even they know better about ordinary green color coconut. Most topical countries are plan to develop king coconut in to their country to better diversification on coconut products. Since this King coconut water is far better than green coconut water, it is better to find the commercial value of it and promote this as a beverage product.
There is a huge demand for king coconut water in Middle east country , I think this is because of the most of the people who live in those countries has the problem with lack of water to consumption and better dehydration product as a beverage. King coconut got great potential as beverage and since this drink is 100% natural , there are no side effects compare to unhealthy soft drinks and beverages

BENEFITS OF AND MYTHS ABOUT DRINKING COCONUT WATER

Here’s an interesting fact:  during the Pacific War, coconut water was used in IVs and plasma transfusions, to save many lives. Turns out that the contents of natural coconut water are identical to that in human plasma, making it a kind of “universal donor.” It is still used that way in countries that have limited access to medical aid.

Here’s some of the FACT and FICTION I found:

BENEFITS OF DRINKING COCONUT WATER

Low Calorie

Coconut MILK is high in calories because of its fat content, but coconut WATER is a low-cal drink: a cup has just 45 calories.

Fat Free

Coconut water is virtually fat-free, with just 0.5 grams per cup. It also provides a small dose of healthy omega fatty acids.

Hydrating

A study published in the International Society of Sports Nutrition Journal found that coconut water was equally effective at rehydrating after a tough workout when compared to a sports drink.

Loaded With Potassium

There are 600 milligrams of potassium in a serving of coconut water, more than a medium-sized banana.

Promotes Kidney Health

Coconut water is shown to prevent and eliminate kidney stones, since it is high in potassium and magnesium. These minerals are both proven to reduce kidney stones.

Low Glycemic

With a glycemic index of 3, coconut water is a good alternative to drinks that have added sugar and could cause a spike in your blood sugar when you drink them. The lower a food’s glycemic index, the less it affects blood sugar and insulin levels.

Contains Essential Electrolytes

When you exercise heavily, you lose electrolytes in your sweat, and they need to be replenished. Coconut water contains five essential electrolytes – potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, and phosphorous.
 Low Sodium
The sodium count in coconut water (about 250 milligrams per cup) is lower than what’s found in many sports drinks, which is good news for those who are watching their intake.

Enzymes

Fresh or raw coconut water contains naturally occurring enzymes. It’s believed that these enzymes could have antioxidant properties, but there’s no reliable research on this potential benefit…yet.

Other Nutrients

Along with potassium, a cup of coconut water has 15 per cent of the daily value for magnesium, 17 percent for manganese, and 10 percent for vitamin C.

MYTHS ABOUT COCONUT WATER

Ideal Exercise Drink

Low sodium might not be the right choice if you’re an intense athlete, because you’ll be losing more sodium through sweat than the average person. If that describes you, you might want to stick with a conventional sports drink.
 Fountain Of Youth
Coconut water contains cytokinins, which are plant hormones that slow the aging of plants and fruit flies. However, the benefits of these hormones are yet to be proven in humans.

Immune System Boost

Lauric acid is an immune booster found in mother’s milk and makes up about 50% of the fatty acids in coconut oil. Some people are mistaken by assuming that it’s in coconut water also. Unfortunately, coconut water contains less than 0.5g of fat per 100g and therefore there will only be a trace amount of lauric acid in coconut water, if any.

coconut water
What does all this mean???
While there are many nutritional benefits to coconut water, it is not a medicinal cure. Coconut water aides healing and alleviation of many ailments, but it’s not a cure for any severe disease.
However, no harm can come from drinking it. I believe the benefits of this “miracle water” are enough reason to drink it on a regular basis, especially if you like it as much as I do!
And here’s A TIP to make it even TASTIER: Add a drop of Lime essential oil to your coconut water! YUM!!  “You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up!”  (A dollar to anyone who knows what song that’s from! lol)
If you are looking for a natural alternative to drinking high sugar, high calorie drinks, give coconut water a try…..and then let me know what you think! :-)
